What is innovation

Innovation is essential in our business.
All major companies innovate in multiple areas of their business including products, services, branding, logos, color scheme etc…
Some people say if we don’t innovate, we standstill and who knows what will happen then…
Most of the time innovation is seen as a creation from scratch, this can be true but it’s not the only way to do it.
I know that innovation wasn’t my best skills in the beginning of my career (today I know why but it’s a story for another day). Hence, I had built a strong belief that I wasn’t a creative/innovative person. This belief was so encoded I wouldn’t even try to be. Years went by with this conditioning…
Now, in hindsight, I see Innovation as a process of bringing a new angle to something that might already exist ; it’s not only creating from nothing, which was my belief then.
The new angle is brought by a specific view of the subject, the service, the product, the brand…
To me it’s similar to bringing new and unique energy to something.
Fast forward, at one point in my life I did a retrospective of my path …. And the common thread I uncovered is: I was always the one to bring new ways of functioning, I was chosen when it was time to penetrate new markets or to reach out to new tough and challenging clients, to open production units in the most precursor way, to reorganize inefficient teams…
I can really say that I was blown away by this realization.
What I did, was to bring a new way of seeing things, a new angle.
One might even say it’s a new way of seeing Life, a new way of using the creation energy that is always around.
But how do we tap into this energy force that will help us innovate?
That is a very good question.
Once we understand it is more than just creating new products or services; it's about rethinking processes, solving problems creatively, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
Then we open the field of possibility by asking ourselves the following questions: What else can be done? What more can be shaped? What limitations can be pushed? If I go over the limitations, what’s behind?
It’s a whole new way of thinking beyond the limitations.
In today's rapidly changing world, companies that embrace innovation not only survive but thrive. They adapt to shifting consumer demands, remain agile in the face of competition. New technologies arrive at the speed of light.
This spirit of innovation encourages a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging entrepreneurs, business owners, CEO and their teams to think outside the box and collaborate in new ways.
If we compare innovation to music, one might say that innovation is a distinct musical note that feeds the existing situation or a new situation with a new impulse that changes the situation into a specific new one that serves the clients and the world.
We might call it the tuning of an instrument with an inimitable fork.
Everyone possesses his own fork and can bring magic as long as they use their own fork and are not trying to copy anyone else’s fork. There is beauty in using our own tune to reshape our services or products. After all, the brand of our company embodies this unique musical note already.
Innovation helps organizations stay relevant and meet evolving customer expectations.
It’s not just about novelty, it’s about a mindset of curiosity, experimentation, openness to change, willingness to evolve and try new things; Its also about accepting that sometimes it won’t work. It requires the ability to stretch our mind, to process our emotions.
Emotions… when you look at artists, painters, sculptors, musicians, writers, they embody the ability to express complex emotions into their artwork.
Emotions can be conducts for innovation to come alive.
Obstacles to innovation often rise in the desire to know the outcomes, the how, the way, the path before even beginning.
So, we end up more thinking about innovation than actually starting doing it.
Small steps are required in order to synch ourselves more and more with this life force energy that will bring out innovation.
Another barrier could be perfection. Indeed, if we wait for everything to be perfect before starting or implementing, we fall into the trap of waiting forever.
As mentioned earlier, it requires courage to innovate, to be willing to implement changes, to see things differently and to move.
Last but not least, if we do the same thing, we have the same outcomes, thus we need to be willing to get out of our comfort zone.
And if we move, we can unlock endless opportunities for growth and development, shaping a world where anything is possible.
In my personal life, I was the one to expatriate alone to a different country across the ocean where I knew no one, to start an entrepreneurial business, to build a sustainable business all by myself…
In my personal journey of betterment, I always refined whatever I was doing. Improved ways of doing things were always part of my work and in my business. It was kind of natural to do that, first and foremost because otherwise I would get bored of saying the same thing over and over. And as well because the more I would speak about a subject the more I could see different angles for that subject, the more I could see the depth of any subject. And it was essential for me to share with my audience.
Once I changed my limiting belief and my conditioning around me not being innovative, it changed my life and the way I see myself. I started to attract clients that want to shift their business, to bring new ideas, to expand …so we work on their unique vision and their own recipe in the most customized way possible, and we synch with innovation energy. And that’s what I love doing with them.
Innovation can be contagious.
Innovation is bringing singularity to a subject.
